About Us

The Kansas City Chapter of the PMC Guild is a group of creative artists who gather to share our work, ideas and skills with one another. We share a love of working in Precious Metal Clay and ArtClay, but our members are Silversmiths, Metalsmiths, Glass Artists, Wire Artists, Beaders, Polymer Clay Artists and more. (Some all of the above!)

We meet monthly on the 3rd Tuesday at Harder Performance Driving School. This is NEW location as of March 2009, located in the Wycliff Shopping Center in Overland Park, Kansas (at 103rd & Mastin). Guests are welcome, though after a couple meetings we'll want you to join up and pay our annual dues ($24) to continue benefiting from our membership. Funds are used to provide materials for our hands-on meeting projects.

We also have a website at www.kcpmcguild.org where we list our upcoming meetings and demo topics, and host a group of member pages.

Carol Harder has a Masters in Metalsmithing and brings a wealth of knowledge to our group. Member Gale Schlagel is a PMC Connection Certification Instructor, Susan Breen Silvy teaches both in her studio and at the KC Art Institute, Jules Van Hoecke also teaches beginning students at her studio.
We also have two former Senior Instructors from the PMC Connection who live in the area: Sondra Busch from Topeka, KS and Debra Weld from Lee's Summit, MO. Founded in 2005 by artist and designer Leigh Ann Prier.
